The old stadium (formerly Manuel Ferreira, renamed Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb in 2019) was demolished in late 2024 – early 2025 to make way for a new 46,000-seat ground designed by Nicole Hellmers and Diego Suárez (PATH Urban). It will overtake the Defensores del Chaco and La Nueva Olla (Cerro Porteño) and become the largest stadium in the country.

2030

Announced by the Paraguayan press on 11 December 2024 (ABC Color) as the venue for Paraguay’s centenary match, but not officially designated by FIFA: the bid proposed the Defensores del Chaco or a new national stadium, and cited this ground as an alternative option (FIFA evaluation report, 29 November 2024). After the demolition the site sat idle; the redesigned project was approved by Asunción city council on 29 July 2026 and work is due to resume; the cost is estimated at around $80 million, with the opening announced for 25 July 2029.
