A FIFA delegation has been in Portugal since 2 November 2026 for a four-day visit covering the three proposed stadiums, hotels and five candidate training sites.
On 14 October 2026 the president of CAFO announced work would start in April 2027 in Montevideo. The commission that runs the stadium is to become a civil association.
On 13 October 2026, Netflix announced it had secured exclusive rights to the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra: all 104 matches, with one free match per matchday.

At Benslimane, some forty kilometres from Casablanca, Morocco is building what is billed as the future largest football stadium in the world: 115,000 seats under a giant “tent”. A declared candidate for the final.

· CC BY-SA 4.0Demolished and rebuilt from scratch, the Rabat stadium was inaugurated on 4 September 2025 and hosted the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final. Its operator states 68,095 seats. One point matters for travellers: there is no tram nearby, access is by bus or taxi.
