Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The only island host city, a 3-hour flight from Madrid. The stadium is to be expanded to around 44,000 seats, but the works contract had not been awarded by the summer of 2026.
Las Palmas, on the island of Gran Canaria, is the most remote host city: about a 3-hour flight from Madrid. The stadium expansion project (“La Nube”) is contested locally over its cost to the public purse (more than €174 million).
Getting there
By air only: 16 to 18 flights a day from Madrid (Iberia, Binter, Air Europa, Ryanair; from $44 one way observed on 20 August 2026, typical return $103 to $211). Bus line 60 runs between the airport and the centre.
Getting around
Guaguas Municipales buses: €1.40 paid by bank card. Line 91 goes to the stadium, plus a special “Fútbol” service on match days.
