On 13 October 2026, Netflix announced it had secured the exclusive rights to broadcast the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, covering all 104 matches of the tournament. For fans who will watch from Spain, this is the first concrete answer to the question of where the games will be shown.
What the press release says
- All 104 matches of the 2030 World Cup will stream on Netflix, exclusively, in Spain and Andorra.
- One match per matchday will be free in Spain.
- A package including every Spain match, both semi-finals and the final will be made available to a national free-to-air broadcaster. The release does not name that broadcaster and says the details will come later.
- Netflix announces full coverage around the games: pre-match, half-time and post-match shows with a Spanish perspective, plus a daily round-up on match days.
- The value of the deal is not disclosed.
Who spoke
Bela Bajaria, Netflix Chief Content Officer, says few events unite people like the World Cup and that she is thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra. Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General, says he is pleased to build on the partnership with Netflix ahead of the 2030 World Cup. Both quotes come from the official press release.
Why the figure of 104 matches matters
The release refers to 104 matches. That is the number of games in the 48-team format, the only format voted so far. A move to 64 teams would push the total to 128 matches, and that possibility is still open: we track it in our article on 48 or 64 teams in 2030. The Netflix release does not say what would happen to the deal in that case.
What the press release does not say
- Which free-to-air channel will get the package with the Spain matches, the semi-finals and the final.
- How much Netflix paid.
- Nothing about other countries. This deal covers Spain and Andorra, and only those two. It says nothing about Morocco, Portugal, the United Kingdom or any other territory. Andorra, for the record, is not a host country.
Worth noting
The release also recalls that Netflix holds the rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031 in the United States and Canada. The deal announced on 13 October is separate and covers the 2030 men’s tournament.
