The Camp Nou under reconstruction (104,600 seats targeted) and the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà: Barcelona, the most visited city in Spain, will be under pressure in 2030.

Barcelona fields the future largest stadium in Europe, the Spotify Camp Nou, and Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium, in the south-western suburbs. The city already receives millions of visitors every year: accommodation and train tickets need booking well in advance.

Getting there

High-speed trains from Madrid (2 h 30 min with Ouigo, from €9 booked in advance), Zaragoza (1 h 30 min), Valencia (3 h) and Seville. El Prat airport is linked by metro line L9 Sud (€5.90) and the Aerobús.

To Morocco: Barcelona–Tangier flights in 2 hours (3 to 5 a day, from $39 observed) with Air Arabia Maroc, Ryanair, Vueling and RAM.

Getting around

Single ticket €2.90 (2026 fare), T-casual ten-journey ticket €13, Hola Barcelona 48 h €18.70 (airport metro included, Aerobús excluded).

Camp Nou: metro L3 (Les Corts, Palau Reial, Maria Cristina) or L5 (Collblanc, Badal). RCDE Stadium: L5 to Cornellà Centre or FGC to Cornellà Riera.

Don’t miss

  • Sagrada Família — Gaudí’s basilica, still a building site; booking required (sagradafamilia.org).
  • Park Güell — Gaudí’s park up on the hillside; timed tickets.
  • Casa Batlló — A modernista façade on the Passeig de Gràcia.

Mid-rebuild, the Camp Nou is reopening in stages: 62,652 seats licensed since March 2026, around 67,000 expected in late 2026 – early 2027, and the 104,600 covered seats pushed back to the second half of the 2027-2028 season.
