Camp Nou: 62,652 seats licensed, 104,600 targeted, and a season without a stadium in 2027-28

The Camp Nou is reopening in stages. On 10 March 2026, FC Barcelona obtained the “1C” licence that raises the authorised capacity to 62,652 spectators. In autumn 2026, the opening of the two VIP tiers (around 9,600 premium seats, against 2,200 in the old stadium) should allow another step up.

The club’s roadmap

• Third tier: concrete finished in spring 2026, seat installation under way; the first big capacity increase is expected in October 2026.
• Roof (48,000 m²): installation from summer 2027, around four and a half months of work. It is “the most technically complicated part”, and it will force Barça to leave their stadium again for the 2027-28 season.
• Full completion: late 2027 – early 2028 according to the club, with a 3,200-space underground car park, a museum and a boulevard. Some outlets refer to a slippage of several months into 2028.
• Final capacity: 104,600 fully covered seats (the figure of 105,000 is also in circulation).

And for 2030?

Even with a delay, the stadium would be finished well before June 2030. The Camp Nou is the second favourite for the final behind the Bernabéu (StadiumDB estimate, March 2026), and, once finished, the largest stadium in Spain. One unknown remains: the definitive stadium list has to be approved by FIFA in late 2026 – early 2027.

Metro line L3 (Les Corts, Palau Reial, Maria Cristina) or L5 (Collblanc, Badal). While the works continue, gates and access routes change regularly: check the plan published by the club before each match.
