Put forward in March 2026 to replace Málaga, with a 70,044-seat Nou Mestalla due in the summer of 2027. FIFA has to inspect it and decide.

Spain’s third city, Valencia was not on the original 2024 list. After Málaga withdrew, the Spanish federation put it to FIFA on 26 March 2026. The Nou Mestalla inspection is expected in the autumn of 2026.

Getting there

AVE from Madrid in about 1 h 50 min, from Barcelona in about 3 hours (Euromed/AVE) — check times and fares on renfe.com, ouigo.com and iryo.eu. Manises airport is linked by the metro (lines 3 and 5).

Getting around

Metrovalencia metro and trams, EMT buses. The Nou Mestalla stands on Avinguda de les Corts Valencianes, near the Benimàmet / Beniferri stations. Fares and final transport arrangements to be confirmed.
