Argentina will host one of the three centenary matches. The bid proposes playing it at the Monumental, expanded and covered: it would be the first World Cup match in Buenos Aires since the 1978 final, but FIFA has not yet designated the stadium. The works ($145 million according to Infobae) began in 2026.
