Riazor

Withdrawn

A Coruña pulled out on 16 March 2026: a redevelopment costing more than €100 million and transport problems. Riazor will be modernised, but without the World Cup.

Riazor, home of Deportivo de La Coruña, holds around 32,490, below the FIFA minimum of 40,000 net seats.

2030

On 16 March 2026, the mayor, Inés Rey, the Depor president, Juan Carlos Escotet (Abanca), and the Diputación announced the withdrawal: the redevelopment would have cost more than €100 million. A more modest modernisation of the stadium is going ahead instead. Vigo (Balaídos) has been put forward to replace A Coruña.
