At Benslimane, some forty kilometres from Casablanca, Morocco is building what is billed as the future largest football stadium in the world: 115,000 seats under a giant “tent”. A declared candidate for the final.

The Fez stadium is to go from around 35,000 to 55,800 seats by 2028: running track removed, new roof, new west building.
Opened in 2007, the Fez sports complex is home to Maghreb de Fès. Phase 1 of the works (CAF standards) was delivered in June 2025 for the Africa Cup of Nations. Current capacity: around 35,000 seats.
2030
Phase 2, launched after those in Agadir and Marrakech, provides for the removal of the running track, a football-only bowl, a new roof and a building on the west side, for 55,800 seats in 2028.
Getting there
The stadium is about 10 km from the centre: a petit taxi costs 60 to 100 dirhams (25 minutes), 100 to 150 dirhams from Fès-Saïss airport. 7,500 parking spaces. A first bus rapid transit line is in preparation.
